How state recruitment works
Read each notification on the official Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) website or the relevant state board, apply online in the given format before the last date, then clear the written exam, skill test or interview it lists. Bring original documents for verification.
Contract posts, PSUs and many interviews still ask for a resume.
What to put on the resume
Give qualifications with year, board or university and marks exactly as on your certificates, exact start and end dates for every job, duties in plain words, and your level in Tamil and English. Add computer skills and typing speed if the post needs them. The government jobs resume example shows a filled sample.
Private employers too
The same resume, with a stronger summary and results, works for private employers in automotive and manufacturing, IT services and textiles. City guides: Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai and Tiruchirappalli.
Frequently asked questions
Which language skills help?

Where do I check official notices?
On the official website of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) or the relevant recruitment board. Do not pay anyone who promises a government job.
