Privacy Policy

CVTara ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use cvtara.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It is written to be consistent with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

1. Data we collect

• Account details: name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash) and, if you add it, phone number and city.
• Profile and document content: your profession, experience level, resumes, cover letters, job descriptions you paste and applications you track.
• Purchase records: plan, amount, date and payment reference. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by our payment partners (Cashfree and, where enabled, Razorpay) and are never stored by us.
• Usage and device data: pages visited, features used and basic technical data, so we can run and improve the service. Optional analytics run only if you accept analytics cookies.
• Support messages: what you send to support@cvtara.com or through the contact form, including any screenshot you attach.
• Optional recent-activity notice: at checkout you may tick a box to let the site show your first name and city (nothing else) in a small “recently started” notice. It is off unless you tick it, and you can ask us to stop showing it at any time by writing to support@cvtara.com.

2. Why we use your data

We use your data to create and secure your account, store and export your documents, process payments and give you access, send service emails (for example receipts, access reminders and password resets), provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve CVTara. We send marketing emails only if you agree, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

3. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run CVTara, such as payment processing (Razorpay), email delivery, hosting and, where you choose to use them, phone verification and writing assistance. They may use the data only to provide their service to us. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

4. Your resume content

Your resumes and letters are yours. We do not publish them and do not use them to train public models. Writing assistance, when you choose to use it, sends only the text you submit and the suggestions are shown to you for review.

5. Retention

We keep your account and documents while your account is active. Purchase and tax records are retained as required by Indian law. When you delete your account, your personal data and documents are erased and purchase records are detached from your identity.

6. Your rights

You can access and correct your information in your account, download a copy of your data, withdraw consent for optional processing, and delete your account from Account settings. You can also write to us to exercise any right under applicable law, including the right to nominate someone to act for you and the right to grievance redressal.

7. Security

We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls and monitoring. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

8. Children

CVTara is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies for sign-in and security. Optional analytics cookies load only after you accept them.

10. Grievance and contact

For privacy questions or complaints, write to our grievance contact at support@cvtara.com (CVTara, Bangalore, Karnataka, India). We aim to acknowledge requests within 72 hours and resolve them within 30 days.

11. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the product.

Cookies and device identifier

CVTara sets a session cookie to keep you signed in and a long-lived random device identifier on sign-in pages to detect repeated or abusive sign-ups. It contains no personal details. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics may set its own identifiers. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time; some features may stop working.
